Star Lodge, formerly known as Yafatou’s Guesthouse, was founded by Yus Tunkara in honor of his mother, Yafatou, whose kindness and compassion inspired the spirit of the lodge.

Born in Farafenni and having lived in the UK for over 20 years, Yus created Star Lodge to offer visitors an authentic and meaningful Gambian experience through responsible tourism.
